Dr. Steve Sternlof
Steve Sternlof, Ph.D. is a licensed health service psychologist. He has more than nineteen years experience conducting psychological testing and evaluations as well as mental health treatment for children, adolescents, adults and families. He earned his doctorate from the University of Oklahoma in Counseling Psychology and completed his clincal internship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center working in Pediatrics, Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, and the VA Medical Center.

He routinely conducts comprehensive psychological evaluations and provides treatment for depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, behavioral problems and personality disorders with patients of all ages and backgrounds. He also works with couples and families struggling with relationship problems.


Dr. Sternlof's previous work at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Sternlof worked at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) for more than 17 years and held a faculty appointment in the College of Medicine for more than 11 years. During this time, Dr. Sternlof directed the behavioral health training program affiliated with the diabetes center, supervising and mentoring psychology interns with the Oklahoma Health Consortium (an APA accredited pre-doctoral internship program). He also supervised post-doctoral fellows and doctoral students who were gaining experience working in a medical environment.

Also at OUHSC, he served as the Director of Programs for Preventive Health which focused on community based interventions that promote healthy lifestyles and mental health. In this capacity, he conducted program evaluation for nonprofits, state and local agencies and tribes. He was one of the few national experts repeatedly selected to advise community and tribal programs in the Service to Science Initiative across the United States. 
Dr. Sternlof has extensive experience serving as a forensic expert, performing parenting evaluations, fitness for duty, disability and child-custody evaluations. He is often called upon by the court system, attorneys and judges to consult about family law issues, testify as an expert, and oversee therapeutic and reintegration visitation.

Dr. Sternlof is active in the community, serving in a volunteer capacity for several organizations and schools. He was an appointed member of the Oklahoma Health Improvement Plan and was a board member on the Oklahoma Fit Kids Coalition. He currently works with and supports the non-profit organizations of Folds of Honor Foundation and Warriors for Freedom.
